Fire brigade to the rescue
Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue used the tower crane over our Limborough Road site in Wantage last week to practice the rescue of a stranded worker.
The ‘worker’ was in fact a volunteer fireman who pretended to collapse whilst working on the jib. The rescuers were the retained firemen from Wantage and they received guidance from a specialist team based in Oxford.
The contractor, Kingerlee, and the building owner, Kings Park Leisure, were both happy to cooperate with the fire brigade.
The scheme is a multi-storey mixed use development providing ground floor parking and retail space with offices and fourteen two-bedroom apartments on the floors above.
We are acting as Employer’s Agent; the contract is due for completion in April 2020 and it is currently on programme and on budget.
