We pride ourselves in not getting too many refused planning applications and this case was no different in that consent was initially granted to convert some redundant office space into two flats. Unfortunately our client did not press on with the work and then ran out of time by not making a start within the stipulated 3-years. When we re-applied planning policies had changed and the Council refused. However, we thought their grounds for refusal were wrong and persuaded the client to appeal. The appeal process is well structured but grinds fairly slowly; however, in January we were delighted to receive notification that the appeal has been allowed and planning consent has again been granted.
